Project notes can be anything written in a notebook or typed on a computer that help a creator get their ideas out. Essentially, this is brainstorming that brings forth the initial idea. Oftentimes these notes don't make sense to anyone but the author.

Storyboards

A storyboard is a planning method in which we draw out each shot that we intend to film. In doing so, it becomes easier to visualize the final product before creating it–both for the creator, and the client. In most cases, the finished video is not exactly the same as the storyboard suggests.

Filming

Filming is the next step in the process. Most often, the director closely follows the storyboard as they film–orchestrating the process around it in the most efficient way possible. This can result in shooting out of order as a method of time management. However, each set presents its own challenges that influence the way filming goes.

Editing

Editing is the procedure of taking standard clips and turning them into the final piece of art that was envisioned from the beginning. This is often the most time consuming part of the process. Editing sometimes takes up to three times longer than filming, yet the circumstances have an affect on that number.
